I have been an educator in Colorado Springs School District 11 since 2003, first as an English teacher for nine years, then as a Library Technology Educator (LTE).
My focus as an LTE is to help students efficiently locate, effectively evaluate, use, and communicate information from websites and data bases. In a world that is increasingly flooded with information, both credible and questionable, it is imperative that we help students learn to navigate and understand the information around them.
I also oversee library operations at the Roy J. Wasson Academic Campus, as well as tech services for the eight schools and programs which comprise the campus.
My educational background includes an AS Degree from Oklahoma State University in Technical Writing, BA in English and MA in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and an MS in Media Technology from the University of Northern Colorado.
