Academic and Facilities Master Plans Meetings
The Academic and Facilities Master Plans are gaining momentum! Join the District 11 team as the community comes together on December 7th and 8th to continue the process of designing the academic and facilities’ plans that will accelerate our progress towards D11’s goal of becoming the leading school district. The goal of this process is to prepare all of our students and the City of Colorado Springs to thrive in the 21st century economy. There will be a total of 16 virtual meetings to provide as many opportunities as possible for our community members to engage in this critically important process. The content of each meeting will include district wide issues, while also affording the opportunity to have input to issues related to high schools and their feeder areas. Please check www.D11.org/Rebuilding to review the schedule and RSVP. Your voice matters! We look forward to the conversations on December 7th and 8th. Please select a meeting and put it on your calendar!
The Board of Education has approved a change in the procedures for snow days. Snow days will be one of two designations:
1: E-learning days. This will be asynchronous learning by students with staff posting assignments for students to complete for the day.
2: Traditional snow day with no student work.
The specific designation will be relayed to news outlets, as well as posted in the D11 loop app as well as dispersed to the D11 community.
Colaborative Community Discussion
Join School District 11 leaders in a community discussion to address how things have been during the last few months, how they could’ve been different, and how we will move forward in the COVID era, during our live-stream event series Beyond the Mask: A Trust Building and Listening Tour, beginning November 19th. We would like to hear the thoughts of our students, families, staff, and community members in an effort to grow and strengthen our district. Please visit d11.org/BeyondTheMask for more information, and to submit your thoughts and questions to add to the conversation!
Thanks D11 Families
We are thankful to our D11 families for their continued dedication to our schools and district. Although the start of this school year has been challenging, we are grateful for the collaborative spirit that has been evident in our students’ remote learning. We continue to encourage all families to keep the lines of communication open with your child’s teachers and school. Together we will continue to Inspire Every Mind, despite the circumstances of the pandemic.
