  •  Dear Midland families,

With multiple new positive COVID-19 cases and school quarantines just over the past few days, our school district has reached a tipping point and we are making the very difficult decision to shift to remote learning beginning right after the Thanksgiving break until the winter break, returning to in-person learning at the beginning of the second semester (January 6 for students to return in person, staff returns January 4, 2021). D11's intention at this point is to return to in-person learning at the beginning of the second semester.

    Additional Technology Internet Resource

District 11 is excited to announce an opportunity for over 1,600 families to use a hotspot with free internet service through T-Mobile.  T-Mobile’s Project 10Million provided District 11 FREE mobile hotspots with 100GB of data per year for up to five years.  Each hotspot includes a content filter that is compliant with the Child Internet Protection Act.  T-Mobile is working with school districts across the country and has more information posted on their website at this LINK.  Parents must opt into this opportunity by completing this FORM or by contacting their school.   Student and family information will be kept confidential.  District 11 plans to begin checkout of these devices in the coming weeks with priority given to households with the greatest need.  If you have any questions, you may email kathy.new@d11.org

    • D11 is providing free breakfast and lunch meals for any children ages 1-18 during remote learning. Parents and guardians may pick up “curbside” breakfast and lunch meals Monday-Friday from 11:00am-12:30pm.  On Fridays, additional breakfast and lunch meals will also be provided for Saturday and Sunday.

Also, D11 will be delivering meals to certain locations.  Please click on the link to find a school for curbside pick up or delivering locations.  School Sites

  • The Academic and Facilities Master Plans

The Academic and Facilities Master Plans are gaining momentum! Join the District 11 team as the community comes together on December 7th and 8th to continue the process of designing the academic and facilities’ plans that will accelerate our progress towards D11’s goal of becoming the leading school district. The goal of this process is to prepare all of our students and the City of Colorado Springs to thrive in the 21st century economy. There will be a total of 16 virtual meetings to provide as many opportunities as possible for our community members to engage in this critically important process. The content of each meeting will include district wide issues, while also affording the opportunity to have input to issues related to high schools and their feeder areas. Please check www.D11.org/Rebuilding to review the schedule and RSVP. Your voice matters! We look forward to the conversations on December 7th and 8th. Please select a meeting and put it on your calendar!
