EVALUATION & ACCOUNTABILITY
District 11 Gifted & Talented Program Evaluation
In May 2018, the Gifted & Talented Department hired Consultants for High Ability to conduct a Gifted & Talented Program Evaluation K-12. All traditional, alternative, and charter schools participated in the review. Narratives, data, videos, surveys, on-site observations, and interviews were included in the process. Stakeholder groups consisted of administration, teachers, parents, and students. The experts reviewed our program for alignment with best practice in gifted education, alignment to the Colorado rules in the Exceptional Children’s Education Act, alignment to the National Association for Gifted Children’s Programming Standards, and the overall effectiveness. Recommendations generated from the evaluation are being used to guide program improvement in District 11.
