The Edison staff is dedicated to establishing a culture of collaboration among students, families, and the community to ensure successful, self-motivated, critical-thinking students. We encourage students by providing them with opportunities to grow as an individual, develop critical thinking skills, and learn a variety of skills to pursue their passion and prove their potential beyond their K-12 education, empowering them to profoundly impact our world. Edison staff works together to create a welcoming atmosphere in our school to foster trusting relationships with students, family, and community members. Edison is a five-time recipient of the Colorado Department of Education Center of Excellence Award.

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination)
AVID's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.
AVID empowers students by explicitly teaching them the hidden curriculum of school by developing time management, organization, interactive note-taking, inquiry, collaboration, writing, and reading skills.
The AVID elective class supports students as they engage in the most rigorous courses appropriate for them. The purpose of the AVID program is to restructure the teaching methods of an entire school and to open access to the curricula that will ensure post-secondary choices for all students.
The instructional program focuses on methodologies that will help students prepare and participate in a rigorous preparatory curriculum. All AVID students are highly encouraged to challenge themselves by taking honors classes, with the goal of completing at least one Advanced Placement course before high school graduation.
