2022 - 2023 Classes
American West/Environmental Science
This is a combined class where students can earn 2 credits in one quarter. Assignments and assessments for this class combine standards from each subject, so as they work on one assignment, they are actually working in two classes. There is still more work to do in these classes than a standard one credit class, but these classes offer a far more enriching learning experience if students truly apply themselves.
We will be studying how the American West transformed through time from the beginning of the super-continent, Panacea, to how it looks today, while also studying how this region became populated and the resulting discoveries, relations, and conflicts occurred as a result of human interaction. We will also study how the environment influenced human behavior as well as how humans have influenced the environment. We will pay particular close attention to the history of Colorado.
