Chipeta Elementary is an inclusive community in which children are nurtured and challenged to become learners now and in the future. Students are self-directed learners who collaborate, take risks, and problem solve
to change their world. 

In our learning community, we 

• teach children at their developmental and academic level;
• take thinking deeper, wonder, and inquire;
• take ownership of learning and make positive choices;
• think, formulate, and defend an argument;
• use technology as a tool to enhance learning;
• develop resilience, strengthen their self-concept, and have an open mindset about learning;
• build solid relationships with peers and invite others to play.

Chipeta is a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence and a John Irwin School of Excellence, with extensive in-school and beyond-school opportunities and a strong
culture of reading and thinking, field trips, science and engineering, hands-on learning, and visual and performing arts. Our community is strong with homeschool
partnerships, an active PTA, and many volunteers. Chipeta is a wonderful place for children to learn and grow!
