Welcome to 5th Grade! My name is Amanda Hlavacek, but I go by Ms. H. This is my fifth year teaching and my second year at Henry. Henry is my favorite place to teach because our school staff and families are so welcoming, kind, and truly like a second family.

I grew up in New Orleans before moving to Colorado Springs in 2000. I completed both my BA and MA of History from CSU-Pueblo and went on to complete my MA in Teaching and Curriculum from UNC.

I have one amazing daughter who is a freshman at Doherty this year. When I’m not teaching, I love traveling with my mom and daughter, making delicious gluten-free foods, and all things Disney!
