5th Grade Band/4th & 5th Grade Orchestra Club

4th and 5th Grade students grade students are eligible to enroll for Band or Orchestra Club at Rogers Elementary School. The Instrumental Music program at Rogers is a very exciting and successful program with growing numbers each year! If your child is interested in learning to play a musical instrument and being a part of this program,  within the next few weeks, you will have the opportunity to register your child to participate in either 5th grade Band or 4th & 5th grade Orchestra Club. After this initial registration, I will host meetings for prospective band and orchestra students and parents. It is important that at least one parent attend this meeting. Complete information concerning the instrumental music program will be presented. 

DISCLAIMER- The current COVID-19 situation requires special attention to many guidelines that have yet to be finalized. As a result, instrumental music classes are suspended until Mid-September. Mr. Blake will meet all 5th grade students to determine interest/enrollment. 

WHAT INSTRUMENTS ARE AVAILABLE TO PLAY? Students will have a choice of the following instruments: BAND- flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, french horn, baritone, and percussion. ORCHESTRA- Violin, Viola, Cello. Rogers Elementary has small inventory of these instruments available for a yearly fee of $20.00. Students are required to purchase their own book, (Essential Elements for Band Book 1-This can be purchased online or at local music stores) as well as the supplies exclusive to their chosen instrument. 

Every child should have the opportunity to learn, participate in, understand, and appreciate instrumental music. We hope that you will afford your child this once in a lifetime opportunity.
