• We understand that during these trying times, communication is critical for parents. To that end, we want our parents to have up-to-date information so we have outlined all of the ways to keep in touch and up to date at Holmes.



    Parent Connect is easy to access from your laptop, PC or phone.  There you can update your phone numbers, email addresses, military status, health information and your emergency contacts.  You can also see your student’s schedule, absence information, and ongoing grades. For more information, click on the Parent Connect tab on the left.

    D11 Loop also known as Blackboard 

    Blackboard mass email and text messages will be one of the best ways for you to stay current on Holmes notifications regarding everything happening at Holmes including absence notifications, athletic events, school delays etc. It is also a quick way for us to notify you regarding bus delays, early school closures due to weather to name a few.  This is why its so important to ensure we have your current phone and email information in our database.  For more information, click on the D11 Loop tab on the left.


    On the home page of the Holmes website you’ll see a little “peach”.  Clicking on that peach takes you to D11 and Holmes specific flyers with information regarding clubs, programs, athletics, District information and flu news to name a few. 


    Once we are back to school, you will begin receiving the weekly Hawk’s Nest – the Holmes MS newsletter.  You will receive these via the D11 Loop/Blackboard on your email. The newsletter lets you know what’s happening that week and also contains some kudos for students and teachers, testing news, news from the PTA, information regarding purchasing Spirit Wear, sports news, band concerts etc.  We try to keep it fun and helpful! You can also find the Hawk’s Nest on Peachjar. 


    On the Holmes website home page you will see a “Communications” tab.  There you will see our daily announcements.  Not sure if a club is meeting that day? This is a great place to see if a cancellation announcement was made that morning.   


    Use the Staff Directory to search for teacher emails and phone numbers. 


    Another tool on the Holmes website home page is “Event Calendar”. Be sure to check this calendar for parent coffees with the principal, clubs, athletics and more. 


    If you are a Facebook fan, please join our Holmes Middle School and Holmes PTA pages for up to the minute information regarding weather delays, dances, etc. You can also access a direct link to our Facebook page under the “Communications” tab on our home page.
