STEELE ART ROCKS!!!
Our fabulous PTA had a great idea to celebrate the end of the school year for our Steele Stars. Rock Painting!! Thanks, PTA- this is going to be so much fun!! Here are some examples to look at and below are some ideas from PTA to help you get started.
Students are encouraged to paint a rock or two; the following are some ideas for themes:
· Celebrate Steele Stars
· What I’m thankful for
· What’s making me sad
· How I’m feeling right now
It is best to use acrylic paint so the paint does not wash away. It could also be a fun idea to paint the rock one color, let it dry and then add some details to it with a tiny brush or acrylic paint markers. Or, as Josie in Mr. Yenne's class suggested, you could use Q-tips or the end of a paint brush to create some small details. Thanks for the art tip, Josie! Check out her awesome Art Rock demonstration on STV! If you need help with supplies, please contact Trudi Jackson trudi_jackson@yahoo.co.nz or 719.629.6011 and she is happy to help arrange for them to be delivered to you.
Rocks can be dropped off at Steele when you pick up your school belongings on Monday, May 11th. Details from Mr. Capp will be coming soon for the pick up schedule that day. We will arrange the rocks in the garden so there is minimal contact and we are following the social distancing rules.
Get painting, artists!!! Thanks again so much to PTA for organizing this awesome way to celebrate the 2019-2020 school year. It is going to look so pretty and colorful in front of our school.
