The purpose of the District 11 Mathematics Community is to ensure all learners have equitable opportunity and access to understand meaningful and engaging mathematics, to develop procedural knowledge and fluency, to practice habits of mathematical inquiry, thinking and problem-solving, and to apply concepts and skills in contexts where mathematics supports our conceptualization and interpretation of the world.

We support the shared vision and mission of District 11 by collaborating as members of District- and school-based, professional learning communities to increase student achievement through:
- Designing standards-based learning objectives and assessments of learning
- Planning and implementing guaranteed and viable, standards-based, mathematics curriculum
- Using research-based and evidence-based best practices in teaching K-12 mathematics
- Providing timely feedback and supports for learners based on frequent monitoring
