Mrs. Christine Lemon

Teaching Learning Coach

Christina Lemon is a life-long learner and innovative educator, in her 7th year in District 11, and 14th year in education. She has served as a classroom teacher, taught professional development, and an instructional coach. She has dedicated her career in education to making a difference for students through personalized, inquiry-based, and competency-based learning. She is passionate about leading others to build empathy through self-reflection, discovering their passions, risk-taking, and self-reflection. Christina earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences; Master of Arts in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment; Master of Education in Educational Leadership; and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. In 2018, she was recognized as an Innovation Fellow with Colorado Education Initiative, selected by Colorado Springs Rotary Club as the 2016 Diamond Award recipient, honored as a “Douglas County Rising Star” in 2014, and selected to be the Golden Apple award winner at Regis University in 2008.  She actively partners with the Colorado Education Initiative and the Colorado Department of Education to build education practices that serve all students. She has 4 children, 3 grandchildren, and 3 dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, yoga, and traveling to the beach with her husband.

Mr. Brian Holcombe

Brian Holcombe hails from Richland, Washington, but was transplanted in Colorado Springs after he graduated from Washington State University with an Elementary Education undergraduate degree.  He later earned his Masters in Teaching Integrated Natural Sciences from Colorado College, where he met his wife.  Mr. Holcombe has 22 years of teaching experience,all in D11, working with 4th and 5th graders.  He is passionate about seeing students come alive with project based learning through an individualized learning path.  Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 kids, mountain biking, and remodeling his home (the neverending project).  He is excited about this role as Library Technology Educator and using his teaching experience to be a part of the creation of Spark Online Academy.
