• We Are The Mighty Lancers

Horace Mann Middle School is a diverse middle school located in the heart of Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is a traditional middle school, grades 6-8, that follows a teaming model. Students' coursework includes four core classes (language arts, math, science and social studies) and two electives classes daily. Students also attend a Discovery period daily, which focuses on social-emotional learning, goal setting, college and career readiness, digital citizenship, personal finance literacy, and provides time for content interventions. We have worked to expand our Gifted Education Program, focusing on identifying underserved populations. Students are highly encouraged to participate in a variety of extra-curricular clubs and activities, athletics, and intramural programs.

Mann Middle School focuses on STEAM electives course offerings, to include 2D and 3D art, concert band, jazz band, percussion ensemble, drumline, dance, drama, orchestra, and STEM courses in design/engineering, automation/robotics, flight/space, video production, app development, video game design, coding, and medical detectives.

Mann Middle School houses three center-based programs for students with special learning needs: severe and significant needs, social-emotional disabilities, and a deaf and hard of hearing program. Inclusion is a priority at Mann Middle School.

We pride ourselves on fostering a school environment that is accepting of all!
