Degrees and Certifications:
Hello! I'm Sarah Chandler, the music teacher at Madison Elementary. I was born and raised here in Colorado Springs, attended D11 schools, and graduated from Palmer HS. Music has always been my passion. I began singing when I could talk and piano lessons at age 4. I sang in my first choir when I went to Queen Palmer Elementary. This is also when I joined the Colorado Springs Children's Chorale and sang in the Chorale for 7 years. In the Children's Chorale I had many amazing experiences but my favorite was singing in Carnegie Hall in NYC. I was in band, orchestra, and choir in Elementary and Middle School. In HS I was in 3 choirs at Palmer HS and the Summit Ensemble of the Children's Chorale. I knew being a Music Teacher was what I wanted to do when I grew up. I attended Colorado State University - Pueblo where I received my Bachelor of Arts in K-12 Music Education with an emphasis in Voice. I began by teaching MS Choir and Musical Theater and then moved to teaching Elementary Music. This is my 2nd year at Madison Elementary and I'm SO blessed to be here. Madison is an amazing school and community. I teach K-5 General Music, lead an after school Ukulele Club, and I direct the Madison Singers.
