• Mrs. Shannon Merrifield

Hi! My name is Shannon Merrifield and I am currently the Teaching and Learning Coach at Jackson Elementary.  I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics, a Master of Arts in Elementary Education, and a Master of Arts Degree in Education Administration. I also have extensive training in early literacy and am training to be a Certified Academic Language Practitioner through the Colorado Literacy and Learning Center.

I have been teaching since 1999 and have taught all grades 2nd-12th. However, the majority of her career has been spent teaching elementary 2nd-5th grades. I have been teaching in D11 for 18 years and has been at Jackson for 6 years.

My husband and I were both born and raised in Colorado Springs and attended D11 schools throughout our time as students. I have a 16-year-old son who is a sophomore at Doherty High School this upcoming year. He is an avid music lover and keeps everyone busy with marching band. We also have an 18-year-old daughter who will be graduating at the end of the year. She loves to play soccer and we love to watch her play. We enjoy watching professional hockey and baseball games. We love to spend our summers and free time camping and traveling in our trailer. I love the peace and quiet the mountains provide.
