Project Based Learning (PBL) is an instructional approach that focuses on inquiry. Given an essential question, students work collaboratively on projects to address issues specific to our community.
Here is a great example about Penrose PBL Projects. Our Kindergartners identified a real world problem, with kids not having enough warm clothes on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. They spent weeks learning about what kindness and caring really are, then decided to gather up gloves, hats, and coats to donate to those students in need.
