  Principal's Message Welcome to Whittier Elementary School, home of the Eagles. As principal of Whittier, I invite you to stop by and visit the oldest school in District 11. Whittier was built in 1901. It has had two additions and many upgrades. The entire staff is focused on improving student achievement in a safe, supportive environment. Our school goals are to improve student achievement in reading, writing, mathematics, and to improve the school environment. The staff is supported by a Literacy Resource Teacher, Title I teacher, Library Technology Educator, and Special Education Teachers and Assistants. Whittier enjoys an active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and Building Accountability Advisory Committee (BAAC). Each group supports student learning. Students, parents, and staff build strong relationships based on common goals and mutual respect.
