November 14, 2009 1:30PM, Roy J. Wasson High School 2115 Afton Way, the celebration is on!

The Wasson Alumni Association invites Wasson Alumni, former Wasson staff, and the community to be our guests during the celebration of the 50 year history of the Roy J. Wasson campus.  Dr. Wasson served the district and the Colorado Springs community for over forty years.  The D11 Board of Education in November 1958 bestowed a high honor upon Dr. Wasson, the sitting Superintendent, with the naming of the grand new high school campus serving the Northeast area of Colorado Springs.  Nancy (Wasson) Smith and other members of the family are making travel plans in anticipation of being a part of the ceremony.  The ceremony will take place in the Wasson Auditorium with a performance by the Wasson Thunderbird band beginning at 1:30pm.  The ceremony begins promptly at 2:00pm and will include performances by the Wasson Choir, remarks from honored guests and the band will close out the event.  Memorabilia will be on display in the lobby of the auditorium before and after the ceremony.
