Mission

The mission of Washington Elementary School is to provide a safe, respectful environment that promotes high academic achievement for all students.

Vision

Each day at Washington, the staff engages children in meaningful learning experiences so each child masters new knowledge, concepts and skills.  A caring, loving, nurturing staff insures a safe, supportive school environment for everyone.  The 3R's are incorporated into all areas of the curriculum including physical education, music, art, social studies and science.  The staff models healthy communication, positive interpersonal skills, and teamwork for the children, for the parents, and for the Washington community.

Washington's students value education and themselves.  They assume responsibility for their learning and behavior.  Our students work together.  They understand the importance of helping to create a community built on respect for one another.  In classrooms, students have many chances to use their knowledge and skills in meaningful activities.  All students see new challenges as opportunities to apply their knowledge in productive, creative and imaginative ways.
