Volunteer Services began in 1972 as a seed grant from the Junior League of Colorado Springs.

The mission of Volunteer Services is to connect the public with public education and to provide community resources that enrich the curriculum for all students pre-school through Adult Education. The customers are the District staff and students, as well, as the volunteer partners; parents, business people, military, college students, civic servants, philanthropists, church leaders, professional athletes … the list is as diverse as the Colorado Springs community. The goal is to provide the best matches between a request from a principal, teacher, or student with the community resource that best fulfills the need.
