Dr. Terry N. Bishop, Superintendent
Volunteer
Services

The
Southern Colorado AIDS Project is a health and human services organization
serving individuals and families that are infected and/or affected by HIV/AIDS
in a 24-county region of southern Colorado.
|
DESCRIPTION |
Through
face-to-face contact, presenters not only offer participants the opportunity
to learn more about the disease, they also offer a personal story or
experience about living with HIV/AIDS. By bringing personal experience,
along with a wealth of HIV/AIDS education and prevention information into
the schools, S-CAP’s Speakers Bureau educates participants on how to protect
themselves from HIV as well as how to help others who have been directly
impacted by the virus.

|
A sample
agenda includes general S-CAP information, HIV/AIDS basics,
symptoms/problems associated with infection, HIV/AIDS statistics, safer sex
issues and personal experiences from living with HIV/AIDS.
