COMMUNITY/BUSINESS/SCHOOL
PARTNERSHIP
Volunteer
Services is available to provide consultation on partnership development,
sustainability and evaluation. Businesses
or community organizations may choose to become a partner with a school or the
District. Often they approach the
District with an interest in becoming engaged in education but without a clear
idea of how to begin.
Volunteer
Services is able to assist them in surveying their employees or members to help
them determine a focus for the partnership and then direct them to a school or
District program that has needs that would benefit by the partnership.
A
partnership plan is developed between the business/organization and school staff
outlining expectations and means of evaluation. A representative from each
partner signs the agreement and monitors the progress.
The partnership is evaluated annually and a new plan negotiated.
Volunteer
Services staff is networking with potential partners through out the school
year. Schools who have potential
partnership needs or projects should contact Volunteer Services so they are
aware of a schools interest in participating in a partnership program.
Some
businesses and organizations are interested in only providing incentives to
schools to be used at their discretion for awarding achievement, attendance,
etc. Volunteer Services reviews
these partnership proposals and markets them to D11 schools.
Administrators have the option of participating and will only receive the
incentives that they have chosen to utilize.
Please
refer to the forms developed for partnership management.
