Education for a LifetimeTM

 

DESCRIPTION:                              

                                                                    Education for a Lifetime programs focus on a whole-person model of health. This model teaches that teen sexual activity affects students socially, emotionally, physically, ethically and mentally. These programs are not designed to simply impart information – but to encourage a lifestyle of healthy choices that will lead to behavior change.

 

HIGH SCHOOL:                                      Aspire – a four day classroom presentation that involves topics such as healthy

  "CHOOSING A                                       dating, relationships, refusal skills, media literacy, STI’s and the value of making a

      LIFE WITH                                          commitment to sexual abstinence and abstinence from all high-risk behavior.  An

            NO                                                   additional one day presentation is available discussing the most common STIs –

       REGRETS"                                          presented by trained medical personnel.  (Grades 9th – 10th)

 

                                                                  Soul Mate- a two day interactive classroom presentation where students learn

                                                                    important aspects of developing a healthy relationship. Topics addressed include

                                                                    the difference between love and infatuation, compatibility, character, and

                                                                    communication.

                                                                    (Grades 9th-12th)

                                                                                                            

AVAILABILITY:                             Any 4 consecutive days (2 days for block schedule)

                                                                                     September - May  

                                                    

NEEDED:                                             LCD projector and laptop preferred; VCR/DVD player             

 

PARENT PROGRAMS:            Partnering with Parents – 1–1 ½ hour sessions for parents covering topics such as communication, teen physical and emotional developmental stages, and consequences of high risk sexual behavior. These are designed to educate and help parents connect with their teens in order to nurture their sexual health and well being.
