School Bus Safety Poster Contest - Overview
Theme for the Year 2008 -2009 School Bus Poster Contest
"Cross in View, its the Right Thing to Do!"
Guidelines
Entries will be received in the
following five divisions: Grades K-2, Grades 3-5, Grades 6-8, Special
Education and computer generated posters (CAD All Age Groups).
All posters that are submitted for
the State and National Contest are required to comply with the national
guidelines. All posters that do not comply with the national
standards will not be considered.
Colorado Springs School District
11 Poster Contest
Students may draw posters during
October 2008 through April 17, 2009. Local / school site / class
competitions should be conducted. PTA, teachers, students and school bus
drivers from each school could be asked to participate in the selection
and recognition process. Each school should forward the top three
posters from their school in the each applicable Division (Grades K-2,
Grades 3-5, Grades 6-8, Special Education, and Computer Designed) to the
D-11 Transportation Department (Attention: Training, Certification &
Safety). The Transportation Department should receive winning posters no
later than April 17, 2009.
All posters will be judged by the
D-11 Transportation Association and members of the D-11 Transportation
Advisory Committee during April 2009. Prizes will be
awarded to the top three posters in each Division within the District.
The top three posters in each division will be submitted to the Colorado
State Pupil Transportation Association (CSPTA) for competition at the
state level in June 2009.
All entries not selected for state
completion will not be returned to the school. Posters selected for
state competition will not be returned.

Colorado State
Poster Contest
All posters will be judged by members
of the CSPTA and Colorado Department of Education (Transportation Unit)
during the annual CDE School Bus Training Week in June. Prizes will be
awarded to the first place through third place poster in each Division
from the State of Colorado. The first place poster will be submitted to
The National School Bus Safety Week Committee for national competition.
All district entries become the
property of CSPTA School Bus Safety Poster Contest Committee.

National
Poster Contest
Entries in the national contest are
from the first place winners in all divisions from each state. These
state winners are judged by a national board of judges, comprised of
prominent individuals in the field of pupil transportation safety. The
national winners will be selected at the National Association For Pupil
Transportation (NAPT) annual conference in November.
Prizes at the national level will be
awarded for the first, second, and third place in each division as
follows:
Overall Winner: $1,000 savings bond
1st Place Winners: $500 savings bond
2nd Place Winners: $250 savings bond
3rd Place Winners: $100 savings bond
All state/province entries become the
property of the National School Bus Safety Week Committee. The right to
modify any poster for reproduction is reserved by the NSBSW Committee.
