I grew up in the cold, but beautiful state of Minnesota. Go Gophers! I have lived in Colorado for five years and absolutely love all the sunny days. By the end of the year this is what my students usually know about me:

• I have 3 younger sisters. (One of them is nicknamed “Bob”).
• I love running, hiking, playing volleyball, and watching hockey games.
• I enjoy reading books with “yummy” words.
• Laughing is good for the brain.
• My favorite food is Thanksgiving dinner.
• Ice cream or Starbucks lattes are my favorite desserts.
• I prefer non-fiction over fiction, but I read both.

     This year is special because it is my 10th year of teaching. Also, because in November 2009, I get to go on a mission trip to India! I will visit the capital city of Delhi and other villages in the northern part of the country. My team and I will be handing out blankets to poor people so they can be warm in winter. I'm excited to share about my trip when I return.
