How Can You Get Involved?
1. Your Student - All parents are already involved by helping their students keep up with reading and homework and showing interest and enthusiasm in their student's school life. 2. Join - Join the PTA ($7 per person) - Not required, but helps support legislative advocacy for children's issues - Every Child, One Voice 3. Tickets for Time - Volunteer as your schedule permits to help with a project or event (you will see "Tickets for Time" coming home in Thursday folders). Examples include: set up, clean up, work at the event, bake or buy food for an event, shop for an event, help plan an event. 4. Committees - Volunteer to be on a committee, to co-chair a committee or to chair a committee (Ways & Means, Hospitality, Membership, Volunteers, ALPS, Health & Safety, Publicity, Art, Historian, Parks, Legislative) 5. Events and Programs - Volunteer to be in charge of or help plan an event or program (Halloween Hop, Catalog Sales, Elf Shelf, School Apparel, Class Gifts, Dad's Breakfast, Annual Meeting/Italian Dinner Night, Spring Carnival, Teacher Appreciation Luncheons, Teacher Appreciation Gifts, Tool Box School Supplies, etc.) 6. Board - Volunteer to be an officer (President, 1st Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer). Election/recruiting takes place in April/May/June. 7. Parent Meetings - Attend monthly PTA Meetings to: meet other parents, ask questions, make suggestions, help plan events, listen to a guest speaker (topics based on parent suggestions)
Please note: Monthly Board Business Meetings (6:15 - 7:00 p.m.) are separate from Parent Meetings (7:00 - 7:30 p.m.). Both meetings are ALWAYS open to ALL PARENTS AND TEACHERS.
