Goals of Trailblazer PTA
1. Promote academic standards Subsidize student agendas ($2,000 annually) Class gifts ($400 per grade level) Equipment & software (Leveled Reading Program, Read Naturally, presentation/testing, projectors for ELMOs, climbing wall, table tennis) Enrichment Programs (Social skills, cartooning, Cooking Up a Good Story, Mad Science, pottery, etc.) Art Programs (Art Smart, PAYO) Subsidize school supplies for needy families** 2. Promote health & safety Safety Town (biking and pedestrian safety) Vision & hearing screening (for all students) Red Ribbon Week (drug awareness education) 3. Promote community support Observatory (watch the calendar for nights when you can view the planets & stars) Venetucci statue (students collected pennies for a statue in honor of Nick Venetucci) Subsidize field trips & summer school for needy families ** 4. Promote a more beautiful school Wolf statue Marquee Landscaping 5. Promote fun and social interaction Ice Cream Social (meet your teacher and enjoy free ice cream) Student/Staff directory (great for setting up play dates) Halloween Hop ("Sock Hop" with costumes, DJ and cake walk) Elf Shelf (kids can buy holiday gifts for family members) School apparel (show your Trailblazer pride!) Teacher appreciation luncheons (two per year) Teacher appreciation gifts (May) Dad/Special Person breakfast Annual PTA Meeting / Italian Dinner Night Spring Carnival or other fun event
All of the above are funded through a series of fundraising activities and programs*: 1. Catalog Sales 2. Spring fundraiser (ideas welcome!) 3. Retail partners (Target, Albertson's, Skate City, Papa Johns*, Pita Pit*) 4. Corporate partners (BoxTops for Education) 5. Special programs (Entertainment Book*, Gold C Books*, Panera Bread Coupons*)
*Not all fundraising programs are done each year. **Contact school principal to request a subsidy. Some restrictions apply.
