Mr. Bowen was born and raised in Oklahoma.  His Bachelor’s degree in Music Education is from Central State University, where he graduated cum laude.  His Master’s of Arts Degree in Music History is from the University of Denver.  Mr. Bowen has taught orchestra and band for 25 years, nine years in Oklahoma and California, and the rest of it here in District 11.  He is also a violinist and violist and has performed with the Arapahoe Philharmonic in Englewood CO for 15 of the last 16 seasons.  He has a home studio where he teaches privately some evenings each week.
     Mr. Bowen and his wife and children love performing, camping, sometimes backpacking, rafting and NOW fishing.
