Welcome to the first 2007-2008 USW/PTA letter! The goal of this letter is to be short, informational and to the point regarding the PTA and what we're working on.

So, let's get on with it…….

Need to Know Now:

1. Next PTA meeting - Wednesday, October 10 at 2:45. Childcare will be available. We will meet in the library.

2. Talk to your kiddos about what they'd like to do for the all day PTA sponsored fun day. Last year we did "World Day". In the past we've had art and science days - what's next? Call Shelley

3. Reflections program is starting soon!

"Yahoos and Thank Yous"

1. Thank you to the anonymous donor who has agreed to donate 2 commercial garbage cans to the Steele playground area.

2. Thank you to the landscape architect who has agreed to donate his time to generate a landscape plan for the Steele grounds. Kudos to Debby VanOrden for coordinating.

3. Thank you to Eric Murphy who has donated so much time to getting this PTA email list off the ground.

Looks like we're going to green and clean this school year!

Immediate Requests:

1. Are you creative?? We would like to have someone design/organize the PTA bulletin board? This is something that could be worked on from home and the updated periodically. If you are interested, please call Shelley @ 232-1252.

2. Now that we have a landscape architect to work with, we need a small outdoor committee to share visions and coordinate the plans with the PTA.  We know you green thumbs are out there.  Please contact Debby VanOrden @ 633-4610

Calling all Dads!

Saturday October 6th

9:00 am to 12:00 pm

We are going to clean up and do some "Honey Do's" around Steele Elementary.

There are some small projects that are not getting done and Mrs. Barnes has asked us to help out, we can make a big difference.

P.S. Bring the kids with you, we can use this as a way to teach them to respect and improve our property!

Direct Donation Fundraiser
