About
Mrs. Sharie:
I am originally from Chicago, Illinois and
came to Colorado seeking a better life for my family. Upon visiting
Canon City on vacation, I fell in love with the foothills of the Rockies.
I
have gained a wealth of experience in many different jobs and sought
better ways in which to serve the public. Having worked as an E.M.T. with an ambulance service in Fremont
County, I learned that we are all connected as a community.
Currently
serving District #11 for over 21 years in Human Resources, I have driven a
half a million miles from Canon City and enjoy serving Spring Creek,
bringing with it the daily interaction with students and faculty.
I
have been rescuing Doberman Pinschers for over 20 years and had eight at
one time. As of late, I have
a special needs Doberman. Zach,
who is deaf from birth, was left tied to a tree most of his life because
the owners thought he couldn’t learn.
He is a beautiful dog and my greatest rescue, because we speak to
each other in sign language.

My
husband and I own a winning drag race team, consisting of a Super Gas
’27 Brogie Roadster and a Super Comp custom dragster, currently
competing in Division 5 of the NHRA Sportsman Drag Racing Series. Reaching
speeds of up to 170 mph, we enjoy bringing excitement to race fans of all
ages. The most fun we have
had with the cars was when we brought them to Spring Creek to show how an
idea is the spark and the motivation is the fuel to get you to the finish
line of life.

My
philosophy is this: Live life
in the present and learn from past mistakes. Each
disappointment is an opportunity in disguise. If
you spend too much time looking over your shoulder, you may overlook the
best rewards of today. Each
person has something valuable to contribute and you have the power to
influence another, no matter how superficial or insignificant it may seem
to you at the time.
