On January 24, 2008
at 7:00 the award ceremony for the AAFCU art show will take place at the
Celebration Place (Next to Corral West-use the Burlington Coat entrance).
Scott elementary had one place winner this year, Marlee Tate (she won 1st
place). If you would like to come and support this wonderfully talented 4th
grader or just check out the show (we have 18 pieces in the show) you are
more than welcome. You may even see me in a tie? -Mr.

The Music Department will
sponsor a Support Our Troops Night at Scott Elementary on February 26th
from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. The night will begin with a short musical concert by
local military vocal musicians paying tribute to the men and women who
have served our country. We are asking for your help in inviting as many
military families to attend as possible. The remainder of the evening will
be spent kicking off the new, Singing Card Game/Contest. Children will
receive points for singing simple songs to individual adults and
collecting adult autographs. Is there anything more cheerful than the
sound of children singing fun songs? My vision involves coordinating this
event so that our students and parents can interact face to face with
returning military service men and women, asking them for their
autographs, thanking them for keeping us safe, and sharing the gift and
joy of music making with them. At the same time, students will be having
fun and accomplishing a music room goal. There will be prizes and
refreshments too. So make plans to join in this worthy endeavor. Invite
your friends and families and let’s show our returning troops our love and
thanks!
