Welcome to Vera
Scott Elementary!
Hi and welcome to the Vera Scott PTA. I'm PTA President Dee
Frank. We hope you'll join our PTA in helping to build the best
Elementary School experience possible for you and your child. We
are all working together -parents, community, school and
students -as active participants in the life of the school,
where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and connected to each
other and to what our children are learning at school. We look
forward to meeting you.
How Can You Get
Involved?
1. Your Student
- All parents are already involved by helping their students
keep up with reading and homework and showing interest and
enthusiasm in their student's school life.
2. Join - Join the PTA ($8 per person $15 per family) -
Paid membership is not required, but helps support legislative
advocacy for children's issues and scholarships in the school-
Every Child, One Voice
3. Committees - Volunteer to be on a committee, to
co-chair a committee or to chair a committee (Fundraising,
Hospitality, Membership, Volunteers, Enrichment, Health &
Safety, Publicity, Arts, Historian, Parks, Carnival)
4. Events and Programs - Volunteer to be in charge of or
help plan an event or program (Bingo for Books, Carnival, Book
Fair, Health Screening, Safety Town, AR parent, etc.)
5. Board - Volunteer to be an officer (President, 1st
Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer). Election/recruiting takes
place in April/May/June.
6. Parent Meetings - Attend monthly PTA Meetings to: meet
other parents, ask questions, make suggestions, help plan
events, listen to a guest speaker (topics based on parent
suggestions)
7. Volunteer- Volunteer in your child's classroom,
Library, or the front office. For more information on
volunteering opportunities, please contact Carrie Blackwell in
the office.

Please note: Monthly Board Business Meetings and Parent Meetings
are both ALWAYS open to ALL PARENTS AND TEACHERS.
