MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL:
Welcome to West Middle School’s
website! We’re glad you chose to visit. West is a building with a long and
storied history, dating back to 1924, and has been an integral part of the
West Side Community and Old Colorado City for over 80 years. We offer a
comprehensive middle school program with opportunities designed to meet the
individual needs of the middle level student. Additionally, we offer
programs for gifted learners (SAIL program), those for whom English is a
second language (our English Language Learner’s program), and we have a
broad range of electives; we are the only school in the district to offer a
Space Technology class, where students have the opportunity to take
advantage of our Space Shuttle simulator. Our music program offers
orchestra, band, and choir opportunities. We also partner with the Colorado
Springs Parks and Recreation department to maximize community outreach
opportunities through the West Intergenerational Center.
We hope you will navigate around our
