It is with great pride that I welcome you to Doherty High School on the
world-wide web. Doherty is the largest high school in Colorado Springs
School District # 11 with an annual student population of right around 2000
students. We are a comprehensive school that boasts Advanced Placement
classes in all four core areas and foreign languages, as well as an advanced
Vocational Auto Program, Project Lead the Way Engineering Program and other
classes intended to promote and prepare students for post-secondary options.
The Doherty staff is committed to building on 33 years of excellence and
promoting the district's Strategic Plan to ensure student achievement. We
are dedicated to our Mission of meeting the needs of all students. "Every
student, every day" is a new phrase we will use to make sure that we are
meeting the needs of every student who walks through our doors.
We are proud of the accomplishments of our students and school, proud to be
an active member of the northeast-side community and proud of the traditions
that have kept us going since our opening back in 1975. Spartan Pride lives
on in the classrooms, halls, hearts, and minds of Doherty students, staff,
and alumni.
