Sabin Raises Funds for Children’s Research Hospital

The Sabin Middle School National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) spring service project was to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. NJHS raised money by holding a number of popcorn and bake sales. Bake sale items in March were lots of different pies in honor of Albert Einstein’s (pi) birthday on March 14. Right before spring break, NJHS closed out the project with a big pie toss during the lunch periods. Some of Sabin’s favorite teachers and administrators volunteered to be targets. Tickets were sold for a chance to toss a pie at one of the targets. A total of $420 was raised for St. Jude’s. It was a great way for the children at Sabin to help sick children in the hospital. Carolyn Smutko is the Sabin NJHS sponsor.
