Another year has come
and gone, and we are so proud of all that our students have accomplished!
I would like to thank all of you for allowing us the opportunity to watch
your children grow and learn. I am so proud of each and every one of
them.
As always, we are
looking forward to many end-of-the-year events. On May
14th,
we will hold our annual sixth and seventh grade awards night. Invitations
will be issued by mail for students earning awards, and many students will
be honored. On May 22nd,
we will hold our eighth grade promotion ceremony in Wasson High School’s
auditorium. We wish all of the eighth graders much success in their high
school careers. For incoming sixth graders (current fifth graders), we
will hold an open house on May 8th
from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
An incredible
opportunity exists this summer for students who may be struggling in
reading, writing, or math. District 11 will offer a Summer Literacy
Program from July 7th
through August 1st.
Sabin is a site for this program this summer, and our assistant principal,
Mike Morran, will be the summer program principal at Sabin this year. For
more information on the summer literacy program, please visit
http://www.cssd11.k12.co.us/summerschool/ or call Mr. Morran at
328-7003.
As we end another
successful school year and embark on summer adventures, I would like to
thank all Sabin parents for their support. Educating a child is certainly
a team effort, and we could not do this job without you. I would also
like to encourage all students to spend time reading this summer. It’s a
great time to check out our local libraries!
We are all very
excited for the 2008-09 school year, and we wish all of you a happy and
healthy summer.
