Sabin takes pride in the appearance of our students.
Students are expected to dress and groom themselves appropriately in clothes
that are suitable for school activities. Clothing which disrupts the learning
environment will not be tolerated. Students in violation
of the dress code will be asked to change or have parents bring appropriate
clothes to school. Permission for the student to walk home and change may also
be requested. Students must remain in the office area until the dress code
violation is corrected.

State health law requires that shoes be worn in all public
buildings.

Clothes such as short shirts, halters, midriffs, spandex,
excessively torn clothing, net shirts, pajama bottoms, and sagging pants are
weekend wear or play wear. They are not appropriate for the business-like
atmosphere of school.

Sagging pants are not appropriate at school, belts are highly
recommended.

Tank tops for either girls or boys are not allowed; sleeveless
shirts are permitted.

Shirts must be long enough to be tucked in and no longer than mid
thigh.

Shorts and skirts must be at least mid-thigh in length.

T-shirt messages must be completely inoffensive. Shirts that
advertise drugs, alcohol, or that are sexually offensive will not be allowed.

Excessive piercing or make-up will not be allowed and is at the
discretion of the administrative staff.

Students may not wear clothing styles suggestive of gang or cult
membership. Any clothing that can be associated with delinquent, criminal or
anti-social conduct will be disallowed. Excessive Gothic make-up
is unacceptable.

Students that staff determines are distractingly or provocatively
dressed will be sent to the office to change.

Caps or hats and sunglasses are not to be worn in the building

Heavy coats and backpacks are to be kept in lockers due to safety
and space concerns.

String backpacks will be permitted.
