World Languages

Students in the 6th grade take World Languages for 1 quarter.  Students learn some basics of Spanish, French, and if time, American Sign Language.  Students learn to count to 20, greetings, the alphabet, colors and culture.  Students may have a food culture day at the end of the quarter when they will bring foods from Spanish speaking countries or francophone countries.  World Languages is intended to expose students to different languages and help them realize their talents in these languages.

Children who study foreign languages statistically outperform [other] students in language, math, science, and social studies”
