Our TAG
(Talented, Accelerated, Gifted) program incorporates formally
identified Gifted and Talented students and advanced performing students in
the same class. We meet every day for a full semester. The
intent of TAG is to offer opportunities to apply subject area knowledge to
real world situations.
We know these students are good. We want them to be
great. This is a real possibility when students are not just able to
show what they know, but use what they know to accomplish relevant
objectives. TAG students learn to recognize their individual skills
and talents. More importantly, they learn how to develop and use these
skills; the skills employers seek, and the skills they'll need to be
competitive in the job market. Skills such as communication, problem
solving, creativity, and the ability to work independently or as a member of
a tam will allow these young people to grow into strong, independent adults
and the mainstay of productive community.
Is TAG for you? If you value your education, and
have a desire to find valid applications for what you know, then TAG could
be the place. If you are interested in joining our TAG program for
next semester, please stop by the counseling office, or call Mrs. Smutko at
328-7053. There are some academic criteria for admission, as well as
parent and teacher referral forms that we ask you to complete. |
