The
Vision of Sabin Middle School’s Advanced Program is to develop intrinsically
motivated learners through four pillars of learning:
 |
Thinking Skills |
Students and teachers will create a foundation for learning
through the use of metacognition, reflection, goal setting, multiple
intelligences, and multiple perspectives.
 |
Research/Resources |
Students and
teachers will use multiple resources and technology tools. The students
will be taught various methods of research in order to become experts in
accessing, analysis, and using information.
 |
Communication & Performance |
Students and
teachers will be expected to use visual, oral, writing, performing, and
listening skills at an advanced level in this program. High expectations
will be set for students to learn and excel in this area. Collaboration in
small and large groups will be expected as well as individual work.
 |
Leadership & Service Learning |
Students and teachers will work together to develop positive leadership
characteristics and social responsibility. Students will be expected to
contribute to the community, school, and classroom. Thus, students will
model their personal best for the betterment of the group.
