Sabin Middle School Advanced Program Student Expectation Contract

Dear Parent(s), Guardian(s), and Students:

Welcome to Sabin’s Advanced Program. Below are the student expectations for current and continued enrollment in any Advanced Program class. As well as those expectations listed below, students are also to follow the guidelines for each individual class. Please read through the expectations with your child, sign this letter in agreement, and return it to your child’s team leader. A copy of this contract will be returned to you.

1. Students are expected to follow all classroom, school, and district policies and rules.

2. Students are expected to produce high quality work and performances.

3. Students are expected to be engaged in classwork, homework, and projects to enhance learning.

4. Students are expected to complete projects such as science fairs, contests, published work, and performances.

5. Students are responsible for making up all missing assignments when absences occur. This includes contacting the teacher and meeting all prearranged deadlines.

6. Students are expected to maintain a minimum grade of C on a raised scale.

Raised Scale: A 100 - 93, B 92 - 85, C 84 - 77, D 76 - 69, F 68 - 0

7. Students are expected to maintain a citizenship mark of 4 or above in all classes.

8. Students are expected to complete 20 hours of service learning during the school year. Service learning projects must be approved by the faculty.

We, the student and parent/guardian, understand the advanced curriculum program will be more demanding. We understand that the student’s inability to meet the above expectations and those set forth by any individual classes may result in academic probation and a meeting with the Advanced Program Advisory Council (APAC) to discuss continued enrollment in the Program.
