Philosophy Statement

Charles M. Russell students come from a variety of backgrounds and present a while range of social, academic, physical and emotional development.  Students in grades six, seven, and eight experience an acceleration of growth in every area of development.  We believe it is our primary purpose to facilitate the total growth and development of each individual student.

We endeavor to help students to develop their potential by providing appropriate academic content and exploratory opportunities.   We strive to place emphasis on the following:  school pride, cultural awareness, self-esteem, independent thinking, responsible decision making, problem solving skills and social awareness. Our purpose is to assist students in becoming responsible, self directed, life-long learners who can participate effectively in a competitive, rapidly changing, technological society.

We recognize that students perform at varying levels, and individual needs should be considered in helping students discover and pursue their potential.  We believe it is imperative that parents, staff and community members work together communicating openly, ensuring that students have the opportunities to achieve the best of their abilities.
