Woodland Park MS Forensics Meet

Saturday, February 10th

If you have this information, we are expecting you at the meet!

Arrival TimeBe there at 7:14 a.m.  If an emergency arises or if you are running late, call Mr. Hess on his cell phone at 930-0607.  Mr. Hess will be worrying about you!  If you arrive too late, you will be dropped from competition—as all drop/adds must be completed before the first round of competition.

Judges:  Meet in room 252 at 7:30

Dress/Food:  Your choice on jeans, but some judges don’t like you to wear them.  Wear nice clothes, but dress comfortably.  There is a concessions for lunch.

Behavior at meet:  Always remember you are representing your school.  Do not do anything that would reflect poorly on your Russell family.  There is a lot of “down time” during the meet.  Bring headphones, homework, novels, games, etc.  Do not wander the halls while you are not competing—Rachel, Danny, Tyler, Weston, Christina, etc.  Stay in the commons area.

Behavior during competition:  Always be courteous to adults and judges and other competitors.  Never ever talk or make noise during someone else’s performance.  Of course, laughing during humorous events is always a good thing.  Show class by telling other competitors they’ve done a good job when it is appropriate.  Take the chance to make acquaintances from other schools.  You’ll be seeing a lot of them over the next couple months.

Cell phones, music, video cameras, photos:  Video taping, recording, or photographing students during competition is not allowed.  Cell phones need to be off.  No headphones or music in the competition room.

Forensics Important Stuff

No more Tuesday meetings.  You may now start scheduling after school or lunch appointments with Mr. Hess for rehearsals.  Don’t wait until the last minute to schedule rehearsals before the next meet.  Schedule two days in advance as well.

Woodland Park, February 10th

It’s a good idea to start planning carpools.

Parents, please let Mr. Hess know if you can judge.  It is always difficult to find judges for this meet.

If you are missing any information, you can check the forensics page on our school’s website.

We have many new NJFL members.  Come see the points charts in Mr. Hess’s room.  Remember, you need to compete in at least 3 meets to letter.
