Highlights
of the 2006-2007 School Improvement Plan SIP
Our
CSAP composite score will increase from 67.97 to 82.86% by implementing the
goals and strategies outlined in this SIP using Continuous Quality and
Professional Learning Communities improvement processes during the 2006/2007
school year. Composite
baseline performance in 2006 is 76.11 and expected level of growth for 2007 is
82.86. Students
in grades third through fifth will move from 81% P and A on the 2005/2006 Goals
by Subject Math
Goals Math
CSAP to
85% P and A during the 2006/07 school year .This will be done by using the Every
Day Math program with additional focus on number sense, computation and
estimation, statistics and probability, patterns and algebra.
Economically
Disadvantaged Student Goal:
Students in grades third through fifth will move from 64% P and A on the
2005/2006 Math CSAP to 75% P and A during the 2006/07 school year.
This will be done by focusing instruction on strategies found to support
student growth with this population which includes: building background
knowledge, manipulatives, high expectations and descriptive feedback. Reading
Goals Reading
CSAP
Students in grades third through fifth will move from 76% P and A on the
2005/2006 Reading CSAP to 85% P and A during the 2006/07 school year. This will
be done by using a balanced literacy approach that focuses on phonological
awareness, vocabulary, fluency, analyze text, evaluate meaning, metacognitive
strategies and inferential thinking. See

Students in grades third through fifth will move from 62% P and A on the
2005/2006 Reading CSAP to 75% P and A during the 2006/07 school year.
This will be done by focusing instruction on strategies found to support
student growth with this population which includes: building background
knowledge, vocabulary, high expectations and descriptive feedback. Writing
Goals Writing
CSAP
Students in grades third through fifth will move from 61% P and A on the
2005/2006 Writing CSAP to 85% P and A during the 2006/07 school year. This will
be done by using a writers’ workshop approach to teaching writing on a daily
basis with a focus on grammar, mechanics, writing strategies, edition skills and
short constructed responses. See

Disadvantaged Student Goal:
Students in grades third through fifth will move from 40% P and A on the
2005/2006 Writing CSAP to 60% P and A during the 2006/07 school year.
This will be done by focusing instruction on strategies found to support
student growth with this population which includes: building background
knowledge, vocabulary, high expectations and descriptive feedback. Science
Goals Science
CSAP
Students in grades third through fifth will move from 41% P and A on the
2005/2006 Science CSAP to 75% P and A during the 2006/07 school year. This will
be done by using District approved science kits with embedded assessments as
well as science notebooks. See

Involvement To
increase parental involvement through increased access to electronic media. This
will be done by fully revamping the Rudy website to include more extensive
information from various groups such as PTCO and SALT and the addition of the
Rudy-E-Reader. How this
