 In
the library we will learn by reading, writing,
researching, and using technology.
We will do our personal best and be proud of our work.

Rudy
is proud to be a Power Library. Our library has earned state
recognition for creating a library program that focuses on student
achievement, life-long learning, and use of information.
The
Rudy Media Center is open Monday-Friday for students and
staff. Access to the library and computer lab as it is needed is
called Flex-time. Students gain permission from the classroom
teachers to access the media center as they individually need it.
Patrons may use the library and its resources to answer classroom
content questions or for personal use. The media center staff
offers Flex-time as part of their goal to increase student achievement.
Studies have shown that a well-staffed, well-equipped library, open to
patrons as they need it will increase students' scores.
Additionally, the staff is focusing on the Information Literacy Goals.
The goals strive for the students to be independent, successful,
discriminating users of information.
The success of the library program is due classroom
teacher collaboration, planning lessons with the media specialist, the
staffing of the library with a media specialist, an aide to address
student and technology troubles, and parent volunteers. |
