Colorado Springs School District 11 Has 12 Power Library Schools!

The 2009 Power Library schools in our state were recently announced by the Colorado Department of Education and the Colorado State Library.  Colorado Springs School District 11 has 12 schools that were awarded Power Library status.  These schools are selected through a competitive application process that identifies schools that exemplify the traits of a high quality school library media program.  Power Library schools recognize that systemic changes can result when the entire school’s staff members are given time, support and training to develop and implement a plan which ties the school library media center program with teacher collaboration and student achievement.  Congratulations to District 11 Power Libraries at:

1.       Chipeta Elementary School

2.       Keller Elementary School

3.       Midland Elementary School
