The Life Cycle of a Pumpkin

Have you ever wondered how a big pumpkin grows from a tiny seed?  Read about the life cycle of the pumpkin.

The Life Cycle of a pumpkin has 7 stages:

1. The pumpkin starts as a tiny seed.  We dig a hole in the ground and cover them with soil.

2. We water the seeds and the sun warms them.  Soon, small green shoots poke through the ground.

3. The shoots grow into vines.  The vines grow longer and longer.

4. Yellow flowers bloom where our pumpkins will grow.

5. Small green pumpkins grow on the vines.

6. The pumpkins grow larger and larger.  By fall, the pumpkins change color, from green to orange.

7. After a while, the pumpkins will begin to rot.  Inside are tiny seeds, ready to grow into big pumpkins for next fall.
