Dear Palmer Community:
We have much to celebrate in our school community! Congratulations to the students who were selected to be recognized by the Mayor as part of the Top 100 Teens!
We will honor the Alumni Teacher of The Year “Kathleen Lynch-Neveu” on November 14th.
We had an incredible homecoming starting with spirit days and an assembly, followed by the Powder Puff game and bonfire. Saturday was spent in celebration of the Alumni Hall of Fame, and the homecoming dance with over 1400 students in attendance. Thanks to everyone who was involved in homecoming activities including Kate Rachwitz and student government for all their work. Special thanks to our security team, administration, science department, alumni and other staff and parents who attended the homecoming dance.
We are aware of the ever growing concern regarding both the regular and H1N1 flu strains. We are keeping a pro-active stance at Palmer to guard against the spread of flu in our community. Please make sure you keep students at home if they are sick, especially if they have a high fever. We want students in attendance at Palmer, but not if they are ill and potentially pose a risk to other students. There is information about the H1N1 virus on the district website.
In closing, I send my thanks to all students, staff and parents for their support in helping us get off to a great start in 2009-10! Palmer is a school community that values and celebrates the unique strengths of each individual and understands that each one of us contributes to that strength and excellence that is Palmer! Thank you for your warm reception, confidence and support!
Warmly,
Tom Kelly,
Palmer Principal
