Prerequisite: Student has major difficulty in comprehension of English and school placement

Designed for a speaker of English as a second language, this individualized course is
tailored to the student's needs. Emphasis is on basic skills.

ESL READING 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
Course Length: Up to 8 Semesters
Grade: 9, 10, 11, 12
Credit per Semester: 1.0 (Humanities or Elective)
Prerequisite: None for one semester; instructor's approval 2 through 8

This course is designed to give students individualized help with basic reading skills. Students will work to improve in areas of vocabulary, reading comprehension and study skills.

EXPRESSIVE ENGLISH 1, 2
Course Length: 1 or 2 Semesters
Grade: 9, 10, 11, 12
Credit pre Semester: 1.0 (English, Humanities, or Elective)
Prerequisite: PHLOTE identified
